Charities
The Palos Verdes Concours D'Elegance, a 501 (C) (3) non-profit corporation, was formed in 1991 as a charity event benefiting the educational and community outreach programs of the Palos Verdes Art Center, and the Palos Verdes Peninsula Rotary Foundation.
PALOS VERDES ART CENTER
For eight decades, the Palos Verdes Art Center has served southwestern Los Angeles County since 1931 with a full range of visual arts programming and community art classes . Today, the Art Center provides over 300 art classes and workshops, free art exhibitions, a highly acclaimed school-based education program, cultural activities, and community events. As one of the oldest arts organizations in California, the Palos Verdes Art Center operates privately, supported by concerned citizens who see it as essential to the quality of life on the Peninsula and the South Bay. www.pvartcenter.org
PALOS VERDES PENINSULA ROTARY FOUNDATION
Supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Harbor Area
The Palos Verdes Peninsula Rotary Foundation provides financial support to charitable groups and individuals located in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Community and the greater South Bay area of Los Angeles County. The Foundation builds a strong community through boldness, innovation and new models of action based on results, not needs; on investment opportunities, not institutional financial urgency. Most recently the Foundation focused support on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wilmington and San Pedro, assisting in efforts to provide guidance and literacy to disadvantaged youth. The Foundation was instrumental in renovating the kitchen at the Wilmington facility, and in placing a book-lending library in the San Pedro facility to aid both child and adult literacy. www.rotarypvp.org
