On a beautiful California fall day thousands made their way to the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes for the 19^th annual Palos Verdes Concourse d’Elegance.

More than 200 classic and specialty cars were arrayed on the verdant golf course on the cliffs

Classic Cars Owned by Eric Clapton, Herbie Hancock, Jayne Mansfield, Ava Gardner, Dolores del Rio and Jack Warner among entries in Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance September 18.

People who attend a Concours de Elegance not only want to view classic automobiles, they also like to know which vehicles were owned by celebrities. The Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance at the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA on Sunday, September 18, will not disappoint them.

Rancho Palos Verdes, CA (date) - The 2011 Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance, to be held at the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, California on Sunday, September 18, traditionally invites an automotive celebrity to be its Grand Marshal. This year, however, the Grand Marshal will be Guy Buffet, a renowned French-American artist now living in California.

Every year a convoy of 100 classic and new automobiles winds around the Palos Verdes Peninsula in the Road Rallye precursor to the following day’s Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance.

The 2011 Rallye will start on Saturday, September 17 at the 147-year-old Banning Residence Museum in Wilmington and end at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes Estates.

The Rallye’s theme will be Gallic, in honor of French-American artist Guy Buffet, the Concours’ Grand Marshall, according to organizers Susie and Ed Beall.

The Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance, the annual classic car show at Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes which raises money for local charities, has re-launched Les Amis, a philanthropic group that supports the planning and presentation of its three events – the Road Rallye and Grand Marshal’s reception on Saturday, September 17 and the Concours on Sunday, September 18.

Dutch Darrin coachwork, Shelby Cobra & Woodies Featured

The 19th annual Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance, to be held at Trump National Golf Club, Rancho Palos Verdes, California on Sunday, September 18, will highlight California Style and Design. The featured Marques* will be the coachwork of Howard "Dutch" Darrin, the Shelby Cobra and Woodies.

"This year's event will be a colorful tribute to the art and beauty of our cars plus the art and natural beauty of the Palos Verdes Peninsula," said Concours Chairman Peter Kunoth.
