Chairman, Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance

Planning is in full swing for the 2018 Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance, and we expect this year’s show on September 30 to be even more successful than our 2017 event.

Last year’s Concours was the first for our new venue at Zamperini Field in Torrance. It was a great success with vintage aircraft being displayed alongside 200 classic and special interest automobiles.

This will be our 25th Concours, and the theme is “California Style” featuring cars that contributed to the California car culture. Our featured marques are California Coachwork and Ferrari.

The California Coachwork marque features pre-war classics that display custom coachwork by California designers Murphy, Bohman & Schwartz, and Darrin.

The Ferrari marque will be highlighting the sports cars that were the epitome of California style and will feature the first California model of Ferrari from the early 1960’s. Our additional classes include Woodies, American convertibles, European sports cars, Japanese sports cars, and even Volkswagens, all makes that have contributed to the history of the California car culture.

Beneficiaries of the proceeds from this event are two great organizations: Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor, and The Western Museum of Flight — two worthy organizations that make outstanding contributions to our Southern California community. There is ample parking at Zamperini Field and food and drink will be first class.

Put September 30 on your calendar - you will not be disappointed.
